Our levels of implementation

Executive Board VHV a.G. / VHV Holding SE

The highest authority of the VHV Group makes strategic decisions, monitors sustainability management and sets group-wide standards for it.

ESG-Committee

The Executive Board of VHV a.G. and VHV Holding makes strategic decisions, manages a unified sustainability management system and monitors its implementation across the group through regular dialogue.

The sustainability manager

As a central point of contact and expert, the unit manages operational sustainability management and takes on coordinating and Group-wide implementation tasks.

ESG experts

ESG experts analyse risks and opportunities in their field, work closely with the sustainability manager and contribute their own topics and ideas.

Initiatives in which we actively participate

As the VHV Group, we have joined sustainability initiatives and relevant networks: In doing so, we are committed to the respective principles and goals of the initiatives. The memberships and signatures provide an additional framework for our sustainability approach and support transparency about our goals and activities.

Principles for Sustainable Insurance

The PSI support the sustainable transformation in insurance technology with the help of four principles, to which VHV Group, as a member, is committed.

Principles for Responsible Investment

The PRI is a global investor initiative that has established six principles for responsible investment, which the VHV Group is committed to implementing:

We will incorporate ESG issues into our investment analysis and decision-making processes.

We will work together to enhance our effectiveness in implementing the Principles.

We will be active owners and incorporate ESG issues into our ownership policies and practices.

UN Global Compact

The UN Global Compact is the world’s largest and most important initiative for sustainable and responsible corporate management. The VHV Group has been a participant in the UN Global Compact since April 2023.

Charta der Vielfalt

An employer’s initiative for promoting diversity in companies and institutions with the goal of advancing recognition, appreciation and inclusion of diversity in the workplace. The VHV Group signed the Charta der Vielfalt in 2023.

FNG Seal

The quality standard for sustainable investment funds in German-speaking countries. The WAVE Total Return ESG fund, managed by WAVE Management AG, has been awarded the FNG seal with one star for the year 2026. The GSN is a content-oriented cooperation platform for the German-speaking insurance industry and related stakeholders. In eleven focus areas, it supplies knowledge, provides ideas, and serves as a platform for business-wide exchange.
